Movies by the Squirrels

LANGUAGE ARTS We have been discussing ways we can make our writing and pictures more interesting. One way to to do this  is to add sound words, onomatopoeia. On Thursday we had to put a halt on dismantling stereos. We needed to save some for the other classes to take apart. I asked the children 'What should we do with all these parts'? 'Make a ROBOT!' This week we are using the new ECLC Tinkering Cart. The children are using screwdrivers, pliers, flashlights and magnifying glasses to take apart old broken stereos and keyboards. Inside we are finding all kinds of interesting pieces. The children have to use all of the tiny muscles in their hands and fingers to twist the screw drivers and squeeze the pliers.
