This week we are using the new ECLC Tinkering Cart. The children are using screwdrivers, pliers, flashlights and magnifying glasses to take apart old broken stereos and keyboards. Inside we are finding all kinds of interesting pieces.
The children have to use all of the tiny muscles in their hands and fingers to twist the screw drivers and squeeze the pliers. You can see in the above video that the children had to work together to hold the stereo, use the flashlight and turn the screw all at the same time. Way to go Squirrels!
Hi, Tinkers!
Have you found any wonderful parts inside?
Any good ideas to use them to make toys or useful tools?
Or are you going to put them back together again!?
Wow! This is awesome. I bet you had a lot of fun taking apart this stereo. What did you figure out by taking the stereo apart?
wow! that is very cool to watch! I wonder what you can make from all those parts?
Thank you for writing to us
@ Miki’s Mom and Ms. Dorothy: Yes we found a lot of wonderful parts inside. Yes, we built a robot out of the parts. The robot’s name is A5-T1.
@ Ms. Jen: We practiced how to take apart things and build a robot. We used screw drivers, flashlights, magnifying glasses and pliers.
Love always,
The Squirrels
